General
Vollmert has been certified according to the so-called SCC** standard for well over 10 years now. Recertification is due every three years. Surveillance audits take place every year.
SCC certification has its origins in the petrochemical industry and first appeared in the Benelux countries. Nowadays it’s an official management system for safety, health and environment, accepted in most parts of Europe. In order to receive this certificate, you’re required to organize your workflow around safety and health for your customers and employees as well as considering environmental topics. We at Vollmert appreciate these values and love the idea of going the extra mile for our employees, our customers and the environment.
Usually the problem doesn’t lay in moving individual weights of loads. It’s more about formalities, safety and planning an optimal process. For instance, very common issues are the roads that can’t handle a lot of weight due to their age and stage. Height restrictions due to surrounding structures such as bridges can be a barricade, too. Somestimes the optimal solution is to transport the goods to an inland harbour, transfer the load onto the ship and deliver the goods to another harbour nearby. It always depends on the location and desired destination. Let’s talk about your project details!
Each country has its own specifications regarding maximum lengths, widths, heights, axle loads and weights. In Germany, the so-called “40 ton truck” can be used without any special permit. According to the specifications of the EU Directive 96/53/EC, the maximum length of a semitrailer truck may not exceed 16.50 m (width 2.55m, height 4.00 m). Trailers can be 12m max., articulated vehicles 18.75m max. and the total weight of the train with load is limited to 40tons. Everything that exceeds this limit requires a permit and is therefore a called heavy haulage / heavy transport / special transport.
Safety & Security
You can either book our insurance service or independently cover your goods with a policy. When it comes to transport and relocation, we always recommend a transit insurance.
Our warehouse is closed and air-conditioned to ensure a constant optimal temperature. It’s fully under video surveillance and alarmed. The only people allowed to enter the warehouse are Vollmert employees or you as a customer after receiving the required permission. Additionally, we offer an insurance for termporary storage that covers potential risks like burglary and theft, fire, water, hail, storm and lightning – if you don’t already have that covered independently.
Of course, we do our best to make sure your goods remain in optimal condition throughout the process. This includes regular training of the staff, a flawless technical condition of the equipment we use and the personal responsibility of our employees. We’re proud to say that we keep our damage rate at a minimum in more than 35 years of operation.
On top of that, as a customer at Vollmert, every process is covered by insurance – from the initial brainstorming to the final reinstallation and test run. You can find the corresponding confirmations in the download area.
Payment
The Vollmert service can only be paid by bank transfer to one of our accounts.
We’ll discuss the budget and beforehand and will sign a contract that is beneficial for both parties. After finishing the project, we except a onetime payment after receiving our invoice. We don’t offer any payment or installment plans. If you prefer paying upfront, we can definitely find an agreement on that!
This is one of the most frequently asked questions and we definitely understand your concern. We’re sure you understand that it’s impossible for us to find a general answer because each and every project is so fundamentally different that we need to discuss the details first. However, transparency is important to us, thus we offer to provide our customers with an estimation of cost in advance after a first preliminary discussion. This way you can decide if it’s in the scope of your budget and you’ll know exactly what to expect!
Service
You can find our business terms in our download area. Additionally, you will also find a large number of official documents that you may need for your administration.
We have a lot of equipment at Vollmert, which is used individually for the each particular project, but unfortunately we don’t own an aircraft yet. However, due to our extensive partner network, we are still able to provide air freight transports if required! Please do not hesitate to contact us. You can find our contact page here.
In general, it’s always best to plan rather sooner than later. This way, Vollmert can prepare for difficult scenarios at an early stage to ensure an optimal process throughout the entire project. Proper project management is a key resource for our success. But don’t hesistate to contact us even for a last minute project. We’ll try our best to make it happen and get back to you as soon as possible!
The duration of a project depends on the scope of the required services. On one hand, there are projects that are handled as so-called one day assembly, on the other hand there are those projects that require a significantly longer on-site assignment, especially for commissions that happen abroad. Please have a look at our references. There you can find the duration and project details for each and every commission.
Yes, reinstallation is part of our full-service package. To ensure functionality and safety of your reinstalled goods, it’s important to us to keep it organized throughout the entire process. That means, the Vollmert team member who dismantled a plant at your former location will also be the one reinstalling it at your new place. This approach might be a little more time consuming on our end, but allows us to minimize possible sources of error due to missing information or communication. Furthermore, training and supporting our employee’s education have always had high priority at Vollmert. It’s crucial to us that each and every one of our great team members are always up to date in their field.
Yes, absolutely! We’ve been working with several international companies on almost every continent (except Australia). We’re always excited to get to know different people and cultures!
